Your Jamaica mobile phone number is displayed on the printed page that comes with your Jamaica SIM card. Your Jamaica phone number begins 876.
To activate your service:
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
How to make a call
To make an international call from your Jamaica mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial 1 followed by your mobile phone number.
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 1 and then your mobile phone number.
To add credit to your Jamaica SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called Top up cards. You will find these vouchers at most tabac shops, convenience stores, petrol stations and authorized Cellcom dealers in Jamaica. They may be purchased in 4 denominations: 100 JD ($1.50 USD), $200 JD ($3.00 USD), $300 JD ($4.50 USD) and $500 JD ($7.50 USD).
To recharge your account:
Do not purchase another Jamaica SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!
To check your current account balance:
Customer service for your Jamaica SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 1-888-225-5295 or 100 from your Jamaica mobile phone.
If you do not recharge your Jamaica SIM card account within 3 months of your initial use, your Jamaica SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining credit will be forfeit.
Every time you recharge your account, the validity of your SIM card will be extended for 14, 21, 28 days or 42 days, depending on the denomination of your Jamaica recharge voucher.
You have 60 days in which to recharge your account after the expiration of each voucher. After this, you will be able to receive calls with your Jamaica SIM card but will need to recharge in order to make an outgoing call.
If you do not recharge your account within the 60 days, your SIM card and moble phone number will be automatically recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit.
